Fruit Tree and Orchard Planting

Recommended fruit tree species for planting as part of a scheme or orchard include, but are not limited to:

  • Pear (Pyrus spp.)

  • Apple (Malus domestica varieties)

  • Plum (Prunus domestica)

  • Cherry (Prunus avium)

​

Where possible native species should be used and the advice of an arboricultural consultant sought where necessary.
